Finka record of what you learn, that you own

What Fink keeps

Written 30 September 2026, when signing in with Google began.

Fink is a city of learning games. Here you are the name you choose, and what you learn goes on a record you own. This page says what Fink keeps about you, why, and who sees it.

When you sign in

  • With Google: Google tells Fink who you are with an id of its own for you, your email address, and that Google has checked the address. Fink keeps the id and the address. Nobody on Fink ever sees your email, and Fink never sees your Google password. Fink asks Google for nothing else: not your contacts, your files or your mail.
  • With a name and password: Fink keeps a scrambled form of your password (an argon2 hash) and never the password itself. Your recovery code, the way back in if you forget the password, is kept the same way: scrambled, and never the code itself. Fink keeps no email for a name and password.
  • Your birth year is asked once, when you join. It is never shown to anyone. Fink uses it only to turn away anyone under 13 and to decide what you can use (letters, voice, some worlds).

What other people see

Your chosen name, your record of what you have learned and earned, your Page if you make one, and what you say and do in shared places: the city, debates and the Underground. Not your email, not your birth year, and not the notes you keep in your head (the ~ key), which are yours alone.

Cookies

  • A sign-in cookie, so you stay signed in (30 days).
  • A guest cookie, if you play on the front page without an account, so you can keep what you earned.
  • Two cookies that last a few minutes while you sign in with Google, so only your own browser can finish it.

That is all. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no Google script runs on Fink's pages.

Money

If you buy lead, Stripe takes the payment. Fink never sees your card number. Fink keeps what you bought and what you spent it on.

Your study

The study in the Fink app keeps its files on your own computer. Fink's servers never receive them.

What Fink never does

Fink never sells what it knows about you, never shows you advertising, and never gives your email to anyone.

If you forget your password

Your name and your recovery code let you choose a new one at the sign-in page. If you have lost the code too, ask the house: it can send you a link, good once, with which you choose a new password yourself. Fink has no email for you, so it can't write to you first.

Leaving

If you want your account deleted, ask, and everything tied to it goes: your name, your sign-in, your record and your Page.
